A great review from Channel 10 and a little sneak peak at us on TV!
“There is a new place to kick back and enjoy a great meal in downtown St. Petersburg: Emilio’s Bistro Bakery and Bar opened up just last month.Warm colors, vibrant artwork and the smell of croissants baking in the oven await.”
We were nervous but eager with anticipation for this one! A great review from Creative Loafing’s Brian Ries – and great photography to accompany it from CL’s photographer, James Ostrand.
Emilioâs salads could be an object lesson for any restaurateur in town, some of the best constructed one-plate meals around. The greens are hand-ripped and come straight from a head of lettuce, not from a pre-mixed box, then tossed with just the right amount of house-made dressing to accent every piece.
Thank you to Billie Jo at Afternoon Delight for the very kind words! We aim to be downtown St. Pete’s go-to lunch spot – for work or pleasure. We want you to be able to count on great food, great service and great prices whenever you come in.
“Emilios is a great place to grab a bite to eat! There is a section in the back of the restaurant with couches and chairs, just like your living room. The walls are covered in art and I was informed that all of the paintings are local artists. . . This is definitely the place to be and be seen!!!”
Thanks for the amazing review – glad to see that you came back twice to try out our menu! We are trying really hard to bring something new, affordable and delicious to downtown St. Pete – and these great reviews make us think we’re doing something right. We’ll do our best to keep it up!
“Because it was dinner, they offer some specials that are served at dinner, but we were there for one thing only – the stuffed burgers. . . We all enjoyed our food very much. But, WOW, that was some burger! And it is amazing the number of choices you have to stuff you burger with. I felt the one thing we were missing in downtown St Pete was someplace where I could go and get an amazing burger, and now we have it. Emilio offers a wonderful new choice for downtown diners.”
Thanks to Brian and Dexter for stopping in for lunch our first day open. It looks like you enjoyed your lunch!
“Expect a much more de-sterilized atmosphere than predecessors and an emphasis on the specialty items that are far less curious as they are tasty and practical. Vanilla flavored sweet potato fries, for example, go alongside the bistroâs signature stuffed burgers perfectly. And that burger stuffing comes courtesy of 15 items to choose from including cheeses, vegetables and bacon.”
